Short Track Super Series ‘Fast Cars & Freedom’ Opens Brookfield Speedway Season May 24
BROOKFIELD, NY – The 2026 Brookfield Speedway season gets underway in massive fashion on Memorial Day Weekend.
On Sunday, May 24, the quarter-mile oval on the Madison County Fairgrounds roars to live with the annual ‘Fast Cars & Freedom’ spectacular headlined by the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Sportsman racing 25 laps for a $1,500 top prize.
The STS Sportsman take part in Round No. 2 of the ’26 Madsen Overhead Doors Inc. North Region.
The event marks the fourth STSS event in Brookfield history. Blaine Klinger (2023), Michael Ballestero (2024) and Butchie Irwin (2025) are previous STSS winners during the ‘Fast Cars & Freedom’ event.
The ‘Hustle the Highway Series’ for 600 Modifieds returns to Brookfield after a pair of well-attended events last season.
Also on the card: Pro Stocks, Slingshots (Allstars & Juniors), Four Cylinders and a 50-lap Enduro nightcap.
The event carries a rain date of Monday (May 25).
Prior to the start of racing, the 2025 Brookfield Speedway champions and top performers will be honored.
